Here are some opportunities to help Philanthropies outside of our usual volunteer and donation outreach, as well as other community organizations in need.  These opportunities are open to anyone, not just our members.  But keep in mind they do not count towards philanthropy hours.

Contra Costa Food Bank
Mission: Started in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. We distribute food directly to low-income people at community sites and make food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and children. The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger.

American Red Cross
Mission:  The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
